Intro to Pickleball - Teen & Adult
This 4-week class is designed to teach you how to play at the beginner level. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America with players' age range from 9-95 years old. A hybrid of badminton, tennis and ping-pong,it is played on a court the size of badminton court and uses a paddle and plastic ball much like a wiffle ball. Classes will cover an overview of the game, basic rules and scoring, beginners skills and beginners matches. Paddles and balls will be provided by the Recreation Department. Instruction by: Leonard Hutabarat, PPR Certified Pickleball Coach. Limit is 8 per class.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, participants are required to bring enough water bottles to last each class. Feel free to bring your own hand sanitizer. Participants & staff will be required to wear a face covering to class. Face coverings will be removed for outdoor physical activities while at the program. Participants will be required to have a temperature check and health assessment upon arrival at the program before they are allowed to participate. Unvaccinated adults should wear a face covering until you have been tested and approved (unless health regulations are revised). You can begin arriving 15 minutes before the program is scheduled to begin to allow time for the health assessment and temperature testing. Pre-registration online is required. Please be patient as this process will take some time to complete.

Health & Safety Requirements:
Please keep your child home if they have any viral symptoms or your child has been exposed to the virus - self isolate.
In the event that the program is closed due to a health emergency, participant will receive a partial refund for the days the program is required to be closed.
No handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, or hugging is permitted.
There is no sharing of equipment unless activity requires. Program equipment and supplies will be cleaned daily.
All activities will be socially distanced as best as possible. Some activities will be revised or modified to meet these criteria. This includes both active and passive activities.
Face-coverings will be required by participants and staff for indoor activities, until health restrictions are revised.
Hand washing / hand sanitizing will take place at the beginning and end of class. Feel free to send your child to the program with hand sanitizer and/or wipes as extra precaution. Hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol.
Only 1 participant will be allowed in the restrooms at a time.
Respiratory etiquette for coughing, sneezing and nose blowing will be encouraged at all times. Practice and encourage these health guidelines at home so that your child becomes accustomed to these procedures.
Be sure to thoroughly wash hands, for at least 20 seconds, when you return home.
Instructors/staff will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects throughout the day.
