Robotics Free-Building Workshop - Youth

Come free-build with hundreds of robotic parts, and control your robotic creations using remotes and engines to see who can build the fastest and strongest robot! Working in small groups you will truly be able to put your imagination and skills to the test as you participate in robotic technology. You won’t be able to take these parts home, but will be able to take your creations apart and rebuild them over and over! Be prepared to discuss, test run, and work together with other team mates as you hone your skills to compete in our Minds in Motion robot battles! Instruction by: Minds in Motion. Limit is 12 per class.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, participants are required to bring enough water bottles to last the entire workshop. Feel free to bring your own hand sanitizer. Participants & staff will be required to wear a face covering. Participants will be required to have a temperature check and health assessment upon arrival at the program before they are allowed to participate. Face coverings are required for all within the building when dropping off/picking up children, and adults should stay with their child at drop off until they have been signed in (unless health regulations are revised). You can begin arriving 15 minutes before the program is scheduled to begin to allow time for the health assessment and temperature testing. Please be patient as this process will take some time to complete. Pre-registration online is required.
Health & Safety Requirements
COVID-19 REGULATIONS:
Please keep your child home if they have any viral symptoms or your child has been exposed to the virus - self isolate.
In the event that the program is closed due to a health emergency, participant will receive a partial refund for the days the program is required to be closed.
No handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, or hugging is permitted.
There is no sharing of equipment unless activity requires. Program equipment and supplies will be cleaned daily.
All activities will be socially distanced as best as possible. Some activities will be revised or modified to meet these criteria. This includes both active and passive activities.
Face-coverings will be required by participants and staff, until health restrictions are revised.
Hand washing / hand sanitizing will take place at the beginning and end of class. Feel free to send your child to the program with hand sanitizer and/or wipes as extra precaution. Hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol.
Only 1 participant will be allowed in the restrooms at a time.
Respiratory etiquette for coughing, sneezing and nose blowing will be encouraged at all times. Practice and encourage these health guidelines at home so that your child becomes accustomed to these procedures.
No outside visitors will be allowed at the programs other than Clifton Recreation Department Staff, City Hall Staff and Health Department Staff.
Be sure to thoroughly wash hands, for at least 20 seconds, when you return home.
Instructors/staff will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects throughout the day.
